This section presents sample syllabi for language courses incorporating TBLT as well as for courses focused on the study of TBLT itself.
The designer of this syllabus, Avizia Y. Long, took a semester long seminar on TBLT, which inspired the idea for this research. She used her knowledge and experience gained from the seminar to adjust the already existing syllabus for this course, converting it into a task-supported syllabus.

This seminar explores principles and research motivating task-based language teaching and learning (TBLT). It examines key components of TBLT programs (e.g., needs analysis, curriculum, syllabus, and task design, sequencing tasks, ways to measure language production (e.g., fluency, accuracy, complexity), criteria for evaluating the efficacy of task-based materials for classroom contexts, and challenges with translating TBLT research findings into pedagogical contexts. Students will carry out a robust needs analysis for the basic Spanish language program at their home university and can utilize its findings to create original TBLT classroom materials for an option for the final project.
