This section presents different studies on TBLT needs analysis
This paper presents results of a task-based needs analysis on foreign and heritage learners of Spanish enrolled in a large multi-sectioned language program. Students identified major language domains primarily travel/tourism, academia and the professions, however they had difficulty identifying specific target tasks for which they would use Spanish. Also discussed is the importance of utilizing source x method interactions (Long, 2005) and drawing on unique external sources such as alumni and future employers of students. Finally, results from piloted pedagogic tasks based on the needs analysis are discussed. This research is currently in preparation to be sent out for publication.
